Front Disc Brake Overhaul

Front disc brake was leaking fluid so I decided to overhaul the pistons. Turns out that it's full of crud and rust from those years of use. I cleaned the pistons and cylinders and replaced the piston seals and dust covers.

New piston seal and dust cover awaits

Pitted cylinder walls after sanding with fine sand paper.

Brake piston and cylinder ready for install.

Piston seal and dust cover installed. Used fine sand paper to clean off the surface rust and smooth out the cylinder walls.

Finished installing the pistons, brake lines, and brake pad lock. Drove the Fairlady around to test the brakes. So far no leaks on the lines and bolts.
