Manila Sports Car Club Vintage Race at Clark International Speedway
The Fairlady was a bit twitchy at the rear thanks to the cool track temperatures and lack of grip from the Goodyear NCT5 road tires. A good upgrade would be the Yokohama Neova 185/60/R14 performance tires as pointed out by a fellow vintage racing enthusiast. Power-sliding was fun, but not good for the time sheets. The Fairlady was fairly easy to catch...predictable and progressive, but better tires are in order.
I'm thinking of changing to Hankook Ventus RS-2 185/65/R14 tires, since these are cheaper than the Yokohama Neovas but just as grippy. They even have a similar tread pattern design. Will definitely change to these for the next race.
Brakes were good as well and the cooling system held up pretty good. The set-up was really reliable for occasional track days and daily driving. Roll bar looks great too.I'm thinking of changing to Hankook Ventus RS-2 185/65/R14 tires, since these are cheaper than the Yokohama Neovas but just as grippy. Some exciting vintage racing - 4 wide at the first turn
