Tosco Seat Install

 

 I had to drill holes into the floor to accommodate the Tosco seat's bolts underneath.

 After the drilling, I decided to coat the floor with quick dry enamel to protect it against rust. The condition of the floor is still good with only surface rust. I even had a hard time drilling the holes, since the floor used quite a thick gauge of steel.

 Completed coating of the floor. This will definitely help with weather protection, since I've already removed the windows to lessen the weight.

 I've also decided to fix the sloppy gear shift. I added extra bushings on either side of the shifter in between the bolts. This greatly lessened the side-to-side play. I also wrapped pvc tubing wrap on the shifter bolt to further reduce the front to back play.

New bushings installed. Shifting is much better...less sloppy and more accurate through the gears.

I finally got my reupholstered Tosco seat. Fits and looks great in the cockpit.

I had to fiddle with the measurements several times so that I had the best driving position with the Tosco seat installed. There's ample room in my legs to do heel-toe maneuvers and enough for me to have good leverage on the steering wheel. The narrow bucket seats really give good lumbar support for my small body structure.
